Patricia L. “Pat” Church

Patricia L. “Pat” Church, age 78, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017, from her residence. Pat was a native of Carter County and was a daughter of the late Dana and Hazel Hicks Bowery.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dana Bowery, Jr.

Pat retired from KFC in Elizabethton as an assistant manager. She was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church and was a choir member. She loved to cook and spend time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Gene Church, of the home; one son, Dr. Greg Church and wife Dr. Celeste Church of Brownwood, Texas; two granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Church and Hannah Becca Church, both of Brownwood, Texas; one sister, Kathryn “Sis” Nodhturft, of Pensacola, Florida.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Patricia L. “Pat” Church will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. David Foster and Dr. Kenneth Jordan, officiating.  Music will be under the direction of her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Greg and Dr. Celeste Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Tuesday; or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Morgan, Bob Shoemaker, Drew Cave, Ray Lewis, Jr., Stephen Church and Glenn Church. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 10:15 AM on Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, to go in procession.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Silver Angels, especially Peg Jones for the love and care shown to Pat during her illness.
