Thelma Jeanette Lawson Hartman, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017, at her residence.
A native of Appalachia, Va., she was a daughter of the late Orville D. and Hattie Sexton Lawson. She had lived in several areas before coming to Elizabethton.
Thelma was a homemaker. She was of the Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edward L. Hartman, who died November 4, 2010; a daughter, Angela Hartman Bowling; and a brother, Orville Eugene Lawson.
Survivors include a son, Allen Barker; a grandson, Timmy Thorpe; a brother, Ray Lawson, Elizabethton; her sisters-in-law, Anita Hartman and Connie Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Thelma Jeanette Lawson Hartman will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, at Hamblen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tony Collins officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be Terry Lawson, Michael Lawson, Cory Lawson, Tony Lee Collins, Rocky Stafford, Tony Collins and Lucas Hartman. Friends may register their presence from noon until 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.
