John Wayne “Abe” Elliott, born in 1947, died January 15, 2017. He surrendered to cancer. He did not live to be 100 and not shot by a jealous husband as he joked about.
He is survived by a brother, Lon Elliott; four sisters; three daughters, Alacia, Sherri and Wendy; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his soulmate, Missy and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances; father, Rosco; step-father, Ed Hyder; and step-brother, Alston Hyder.
Now he can go fishing every day. May he rest in peace.
There will be a celebration of life at the Covered Bridge in Elizabethton on March 5 at 1 p.m.
