Train display vandalized near Chamber of Commerce

Vandals recently damaged two cars on the North American Rayon Corporation train located beside the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce building off US 19E.
According to a report issued by Elizabethton Police Department Officer Kenneth Lowe, Brodey Lowe was mowing at the park on Monday, March 27, when he noticed someone had vandalized the train.
Lowe stated he observed that a rear sliding door on the train was broken loose from the track and also noticed the glass window was broken out of the door at the rear of the last train car.
EPD also reported to a vandalism call the same day on the 700 block of West Elk Avenue. According to the report, the manager of Cato’s noticed graffiti on the building with derogatory comments.
Both reports indicated that extra patrol would be requested for each location.
