Judith Bell Nease May, 77, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Pine Ridge Care Center after an extended illness.
A native of Cocke County, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jessee Rader Nease. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton.
Judy was a beautician. She was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Martin, Frankie Otinger, Maxine Trentham and Shirley Metzer, and one brother, L.B. Nease.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Billy G. May; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Chuck Milam, Elizabethton; one granddaughter, Lilly Catherine Milam, Elizabethton; one sister, Margaret Peters, Johnson City; and one brother, Roger Nease, Newport, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. May will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Music will be by Tonya Milam and the Congregation. The Eulogy will be given by her daughter, Tonya. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, in the Grindstaff-Combs Cemetery with Mr. Randy Overdorf and Mr. Kenneth Overdorf, ministers, officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, will be Ron Trentham, Chuck Milam, Robert Perry, George Lilly, Matt Tisdale, David Perry, Matthew Perry and Jeremy Perry. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Pine Ridge Care Center and the staff of Caris Hospice for the excellent service Judy received, and also to the church families of Hunter United Methodist Church and Range Community Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
