Albert W. “Alb” Harrison

Albert W. “Alb” Harrison, 85, of Watauga, went home to a Heavenly Reunion on April 5, 2017 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lon M. and Alice Presnell Harrison.
Alb attended Cloudland High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In his earlier years he was in the construction business and in recent years he was owner of Rocky Top Carpet.
Alb was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., the American Legion Post 49 and a longtime member of the Carter County Honor Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie Elliott Harrison; his second wife, Florence Morris Harrison; his son, Conley “Smoke” Harrison; his step-son, James Parlier; eight brothers, Charles, Jack, Gene, Johnny, Kenneth, Beryl, Wayne and Sandy Harrison; and his special friend, Bill Baumgardner.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and John Edney, Johnson City; a son, Keith Harrison, Watauga; five grandchildren, Lynn Honeycutt, William Harrison, Daniel Harrison, Deborah Ledford and B.J. Wilson; nine great-grandchildren; his daughters-in-law, Kathryn Parlier and Deborah Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Harrison will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Fleenor and the Rev. R.L. Poole officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers and Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jonathan Bremer, Dr. Charles Cole, Dr. Wayne Tongco and his church family. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Alb to the Carter County Honor Guard, % Kelly Greene, 157 Chambers Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or the Youth Ministry, Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church, P.O.
