Tina L. Humphrey, 97, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017, at her residence with her family surrounding her.
A native of Carter County, she was born October 24, 1919, the youngest and last surviving child of the late Marion and Mary Gouge Morton.
Tina retired after 33 years of service from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Big Spring Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Carl G. Humphrey, who passed away September 29, 1991; two sons, Earl Humphrey, in 2008, and Sammy Humphrey, in 2012; one infant grandson, Blake Carr; her sisters. Jenny, Celia, Lucy and Betty; and her brothers, George, Brown, Will, Cliff and Frank Morton.
Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Rowe Carr, Kay and John McGee and Karen and Terry Tester; two daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Betsy Humphrey; nine grandchildren, Jim, Tina, Kristie, John Carl, Robin, Jeremy, Kasey, Terri and Jessica; 12 great-grandchildren, Brandy, Shawn, Olivia, Mary Dale, Austin, Landon, Gracelyn, Tori, Bayley, Peyton, Addie and Mia; several nieces and nephews; and her former sister-in-law, Ruby Morton.
The graveside service for Tina L. Humphrey will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
