Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, CCSO Investigator Nick Andes said he saw a Subaru Baja traveling on 19E in Roan Mountain with no tail lights or tag lights, so he conducted a traffic stop on the SUV.

“Upon approaching the vehicle, I immediately knew the driver as Brittany Turbyfill,” Andes said, adding he asked to see the driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance. “Ms. Turbyfill advised me that her name was Krystal Jones and provided me with a birthday, address, and began to give me a social security number when I asked her to exit the vehicle. Upon stepping to the rear of the vehicle, I asked Ms. Turbyfill to tell me her name, and she admitted that she was Brittany Turbyfill.”

Andes then arrested Turbyfill and charged her with criminal impersonation and driving on a suspended license.

While Andes talked with Turbyfill, CCSO Deputy Robert Hughes watched the vehicle’s passenger, who was identified as Clark, and saw her making suspicious movements inside the SUV.

“Deputy Hughes asked Ms. Clark to step out of the vehicle, and as they walked to the rear of the vehicle I observed a large bag of crystalline substance drop from Ms. Clark’s hands, which were behind her back,” Andes said.

CCSO Deputy Jenna Markland searched Clark and found several small bags of crystalline substance in her pockets, Andes said. Officers reported when they searched the SUV they found digital scales, scissors, clear plastic baggies, a methamphetamine smoking pipe, and prescription medication.

Officers seized $624 in cash found in possession of the women, as well as the SUV Turbyfill was driving, according to a police report.

Andes additionally charged Turbyfill with possession of Schedule II drugs (methamphetamine) with the intent to deliver or sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia and charged Clark with possession of Schedule II drugs (methamphetamine) for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of Schedule IV drugs.

A records check on Turbyfill revealed she is currently on probation for a conviction in Virginia of felony possession of methamphetamine, Andes said.
