Ultimate Shine Express hosted a special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the company’s newest location and also took the opportunity to give back to their new home community.

The car wash is located at 1005 Overmountain Drive. While it officially opened for business several weeks ago, the ribbon cutting was postponed until Thursday.

Joining company owner David Wild for the celebration were company employees and representatives from the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce.

Wild launched the car wash chain around 15 years ago with his first location in Morristown. Over the years, Ultimate Shine Express began to expand and now offers eight facilities from Morristown into the Tri-Cities. The Elizabethton facility is the company’s newest operation. There are two locations in Morristown, one in Greeneville, and two each in Johnson City and Kingsport. Wild is working on two additional sites in the region — one in Piney Flats and one in Bristol.

The business offers car wash packages including a variety of services such as waxes and also provides free vacuuming. Customers can pay for a single wash or opt for a Fast Pass Plan with allows them unlimited washes for the month at any of the company’s locations.

In addition to bringing his business to Elizabethton, Wild said he wants to use the business to help give back to Elizabethton and Carter County.

“We really want to be involved in this community,” he said.

To mark the opening of the business and the company’s commitment to supporting the community, Wild announced the company was giving a $1,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County.

“We’ve been involved with the Boys and Girls Club in Morristown for a number of years,” Wild said, adding he hopes to build that same relationship with the local club.
