William Townsend, 92, 120 Manning Street, Elizabethton, Tenn., went home on Sunday morning, May 21, 2017, to be with his Lord whom he loved. He was a native of Sheridan, Wyo., but had lived in Elizabethton for many years. He was a farmer and a member of Roan Street Freewill Baptist Church. Willie enjoyed spending time with his dog, Bo, and watching westerns.
Those left to cherish his memory include the Hyder, Berkley and Guinn families; his church family and his Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center family.
A Celebration of Life Service for William Townsend will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Greg Largent, officiating pastor, and Pastor Tim Gouge following with words and prayer. Music will be under the direction of the Roan Street Freewill Baptist Church Choir. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Diaz and the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, to the staff at Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center and Dr. Basal and staff for their loving care to Willie.
