North Fork with Daniel Grindstaff will perform at 6:30 p.m.

Grindstaff is an Elizabethton native with a world-class musical resume. He began his professional music career at the young age of 18 when he performed at the Grand Ole Opry with bluegrass legends Jim and Jesse McReynolds. At the Opry, Grindstaff also performed with the legendary Osborne Brothers, longtime members of the Opry who are possibly best known for their familiar hit, and Tennessee’s official State Song, “Rocky Top.”

Noted by many industry legends as a gifted banjo picker, Grindstaff began touring with Grammy Award Winning artist Marty Raybon in the Fall of 2006. For the next five years, Grindstaff remained an important part of Raybon’s studio recordings and concerts.

Headlining the final concert of the festival will be Grammy Award Winning country artist Suzy Bogguss, who will take the stage at 8 p.m.

Some of Bogguss’ accomplishments include 10 albums for Capitol Records — one of which was certified as platinum while three others were certified as gold. Eight of her singles have cracked country music’s Top 5.

Over the years, Bogguss has garnered many accolades, including a Grammy Award and several awards from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, Country Music Television, and Country Music People International. She has appeared on numerous television programs, toured in 12 countries, and gave a command performance at the Whitehouse for President and Mrs. Bill Clinton.

Among her popular list of singles are such well-known songs as ‘Hey Cinderella,’ ‘Drive South,’ ‘Outbound Plane,’ and ‘Letting Go.’

Following the concert Saturday night, the Covered Bridge Celebration will close out with a special fireworks show sponsored by Snap-on Tools.
