With the school year upon the community, a handful of local business owners are looking to give back.
The businesses located inside Madd Jaxs Suites are hosting a Back to School Bash event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5. Companies hosting the event include Sophistikutz Hair Salon, Polished Nail Salon, CJ’s Unique Boutique, The Lash Boutique and the Muscle Whisperer.
Jessica Franklin, one of the event organizers, added the event is a way to promote the businesses and offer different treats to the public.
“It’s like a grand opening, but it is more about letting the public know we’re here,” Franklin said Wednesday. “Everything in here is new.”
Individuals can come out and participate in a bevy of activities throughout the day. Franklin added attendees will be entered in to win prizes, purchase discount certificates and receive exclusive discounts on purchases. Franklin added between $1200 to $1500 worth of gifts would be given away along with special gifts for the first 50 people that come through the doors. Other gifts to be presented include 52 gift baskets estimated to cost between $200 and $300.
“We wanted to do a grand opening, but since we all trickled in over time, we didn’t think it would be such a great idea to do that,” Franklin said. “We decided to host this event since it’s back to school season. We want to offer the public some fun while showing off what our businesses have to offer.”
Madd Jaxs’ event will offer feature a bevy of guest vendors, including Beauticontrol, Young Living Essential Oils, Shelter Insurance, Treadway Travel Company, Pierces Confection Perfections, Simply Elegant Catering, Lets Taco Bout it Food Truck, Nerium Skin Care, Pruvit, Des Creates Vinyl Creations and LipSense by Senegence. The day will also feature $10 dry haircuts.
“We’re excited about the support we’ve received so far,” Franklin said. “We encourage people to come out and have fun.”
