Larry “Daniel” Montgomery

Larry “Daniel” Montgomery, 33, of Hampton, Tenn. Daniel passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, due to heart complications, just a week before his 34th birthday. He was born July 31, 1983 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Daniel attended school at Nassau Christian Academy in Yulee, Fla. He moved with his wife and children to Elizabethton in 2005. He was a loving husband and father.
Daniel was a devoted employee at Whaley & Sons as a Grade Superintendent in the construction industry.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Randy Axtell Sr., and his great-grandparents.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Kerry; three children, Bryson, Carlee and Kylee; parents and step-parents, Larry “Benny” Montgomery and Rene Barnett and Scott and Kim Bleicken; mother-in-law, Sandy Axtell; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Amanda Montgomery; grandparents, Dr. Larry and Ginger Montgomery and Dan and Jeanie DeFee; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Larry “Daniel” Montgomery will be conducted at noon Saturday, July 29, at the Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Montgomery and Rev. Dolton Robertson officiating. Daniel will then be laid to rest at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bryson Montgomery, Dean Montgomery, Justin Brown, Jared Brown, Randy Axtell, Jared McKinney, Robert Haddock, Travis Brook and Logan Tarloton. Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow employees of Whaley & Sons Inc. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of his grandparents, Larry and Ginger Montgomery, 142 Hazelwood Hollow, Hampton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
