Officials with the Elizabethton Police Department are asking the public to come forward with any possible information in regards to a robbery that took place over the weekend.
An investigation is underway by the department about a theft that reportedly took place between 2 to 3 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at a local business.
According to information provided by Captain Joy Shoun, entry was made inside the secured property where multiple items were stolen, including wheels, tires and other vehicle parts that were removed from “several” cars parked on the property.
The report also noted a 24-foot Shadow trailer with black powder-coated wheels with a four-foot side door was also stolen. Multiple items were inside the trailer, including a 1989 custom Mustang LX drag car, a golf cart, assorted tools, an air compressor and fuel containers.
Shoun said information gathered by the EPD so far indicates the suspect, or suspects, were operating a dark-colored pickup truck, last seen traveling through Roan Mountain on US 19E heading to North Carolina.
