Elizabethton has become a second home for the Tipton family.
Operating a dentistry practice was always a dream for Carly and Logan Tipton, and the duo were able to make it a reality recently by opening Appalachian Family Dentistry.
Located on 1213, W G Street – in Dr. Miller’s former office – the duo expressed their thanks to the community for the round of support since opening their practice.
“The community has been fantastic and very supportive,” said Carly. “We appreciate everyone that’s come in and let us be part of their lives.”
Appalachian Family Dentistry actually originates with some Kentucky flare. Carly, the dentist at the office, recently graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry for her DMD. After meeting Logan, a Johnson City native and office manager at the facility, the couple waited two years before scouting different locations and quickly fell in love with Elizabethton.
Logan added he’s enjoyed the ability to be have a business in the region. While serving as an office manager now, Logan will continue his schooling at UK College of Dentistry next year and look to join his wife as a dentist.
Appalachian Family Dentistry’s number one goal is to bring a family-friendly atmosphere to patients, the duo explained. With a tight-knit family of employees, Carly said the best part of the job is having the chance to speak with patients.
The facility operates with a well-rounded staff. Ronda Tipton, Logan’s mother, serves as financial manager of the business. Becca Edwards is registered dental hygienist, while Amber Maxwell serves as a registered dental assistant. Brandy Nickels also serves a receptionist and Carly was quick to sing the praises of each employee.
Community members can expect top of the line service once they visit, too. Logan added the business is used technology to their advantage to help with diagnoses.
And while action has been steady at the business, the Tiptons are encouraging the community to come out for some fun at the end of September.
During Thursday’s discussion with the Elizabethton Star, Logan and Carly stated they’re looking forward to hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kiwanis Park’s Don Tetrick Pavilion.
The event will be open to the public and feature hot dogs, ice cream, a bounce house, giant slide and different prize giveaways.
