Carolina Ann Kursey

Carolina Ann Kursey, age 64, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Olney, MD she was the daughter of the late William Mills and Betty Howard Barnhouse. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching the Western Channel and football; doing word search puzzles and playing poker. She was Mamaw to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Woodby; brothers, Ronnie Mills and Michael Barnhouse; sisters, Wanda Stanley and Mary Corbin; brother-in-law, Tommy Kursey; sisters-in-law, Tammy Mills and Brenda Mills and a nephew, Keith Smith. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Marvin Kursey, Elizabethton; two sons, Lee Woodby and wife Armetia, Elizabethton and Kevin Woodby and wife Brittney, Johnson City; the father of her children, Terry Woodby, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Megan Vance and husband Nathaniel, Jacob Woodby and fiancé Britni Beasley, Kandice Woodby, all of Elizabethton, Dillon Woodby and Billy Woodby, both of Johnson City; four sisters, Linda Croghan, Clarksburg, MD, Brenda Bailey, Frederick, MD, Debbie Smith, Poolesville, MD and Kathy Mills, Hagerstown, MD and four brothers, William Mills Jr., Hagerstown, MD, John Mills, Charles Town, WV, Wayne Barnhouse, WV and Frankie Barnhouse, MD. Many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly also survive.
A service to honor the life of Carolina Ann Kursey will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Alan King officiating. Eulogy will be given by a granddaughter, Megan Vance. Interment will follow the funeral service on Saturday in the Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Woodby, Dillon Woodby, Nathaniel Vance, Jimmy Presnell, Steven Carr and Justin Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Woodby, Ryan Waldrop, Jon Webb, Jaylen Simmons, John Payne and Jesse Carr.
The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Friends may also call at the residence of a son, Lee Woodby at other times.
