Ronda Wayne Whitehead

Ronda Wayne Whitehead, 69, of Johnson City, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 22, 2017, at the residence of his daughter following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Bernice Jones Whitehead.
Mr. Whitehead retired from Kysor Panel and was a member of King Springs Baptist Church. He loved to go to the flea market, fish, mow the yard and his part-time job at the Senior’s Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sierra Waycaster, and two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Sandra Wandell.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Amy Jones and husband Tom, Elizabethton, and Susan Whitehead, Johnson City; a grandson, Hunter Jones, Elizabethton; a sister, Carolyn Perry and husband Norman, Jasper, Tenn.; a brother, Wade Whitehead and wife Ellen, Elizabethton; an uncle, Claud Jones and wife Dare, Elizabethton; his special friend and side-kick, Joe Carrier; and his special lady friend, Karen Nicopulos. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Ronda Wayne Whitehead will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 24, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Cornett and Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service in the Bennett Cemetery, Dennis Cove Road, Hampton, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be nephews.
