Roy G. Edens, 77, of Greeneville, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Edens served in the U.S. Army and retired from Plus Mark. He was a member of Bradburn Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing golf.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Edens and Melissa Capps; one son, Chris Morrison; three grandchildren, Bryant Metcalf, Jonathan Morrison and Sadie Roberts; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ben Morrison, Piper, Emmy and Hudson Roberts; one sister, Norma Rowlette; one sister-in-law, Zella Edens; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elmer Edens; one brother, Richard Edens; and one sister, Judy Britt.
Special thanks are extended to Vicki and Danny Scott for their care during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. The Rev. Gail Jenkins and the Rev. Charles Lindy will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Thursday for a military graveside service conducted by the Greene County Honor Guard.
