Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will have its monthly clothes closet beginning Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

First Baptist
The ETSU Mandolin Orchestra will present a free concert Saturday at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Elizabethton.
The concert is part of the church’s 175th Anniversary Celebration.

Baptist Fall Meeting
The Watauga Association of Baptists fall meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Stoney Creek Baptist Church, 1843 Highway 91.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Ron Lynch with Life After Death Ministries.
A meal will be provided by the host church following the service.

Cove Creek Presbyterian
New Covenant will present special singing Sunday at the 6 p.m. worship service at Cove Creek Presbyterian Church, Roan Mountain.

Bible Baptist
Homecoming will be observed Sunday at Bible Baptist Church, 1215 Broad St. Services begin at 10:30 a.m.
Also, a Harvest Time Revival will be held at the church Oct. 8-11 with services each evening at 7 o’clock.

Lower Shell Creek
Revival will be held Oct. 8-11 at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, Roan Mountain, with Jack Harris as evangelist.
Services Sunday will be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 6 p.m. Special music will be featured at each service.
Also, homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at the morning service.

Unity Fellowship
Unity Fellowship Church, 907 S. Cedar Ave., will celebrate homecoming Sunday with a service at 3 p.m.
Featured singers will include Jacob and Carmen Phillips, a talented young couple from the Lamplight Theater.
Following the service a meal will be served in the fellowship hall.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“The Fruit of the Vine” is the sermon topic for morning worship Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City. The scripture text is Isa. 5: 1-7.
Morning worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Big Springs
Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Big Springs Church of Christ at the 10 a.m. service.
Bob Allen will be the featured speaker, and special music will be presented by Terry Rice.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
Also, revival will be held at the church Oct. 9-13 at 7 p.m. each evening. The evangelist will be Bud Gentry of Mountain City. Special music will be presented at each service.

Heartland Fellowship
The Tabernacle Experience will be presented by Heartland Fellowship Church in Elizabethton Oct. 6 and 7.
Those attending will travel back into Biblical times as Aaron and other Levitical Priests encounter the Day of Atonement. They will see and feel the excitement as the High Priest and Aaron journey through the tabernacle ultimately arriving in the presence of the Almighty God.
Israeli dances and refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the Tabernacle presentation begins at 7 p.m.
Admission is free, but a love offering will be received at the end.
Heartland Fellowship is located at 211 Heartland Way. Take Stoney Creek exit, first road on the left.

Roan Mountain
Community Fellowship
The Roan Mountain Community Fellowship will host a breakfast fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at the Roan Mountain Holiness Church.
The menu will consist of biscuit and gravy, eggs, and sausage. The cost is $6 per breakfast.
All proceeds will go to upgrade the community worship center. Donations will be accepted.

First United Methodist
“The Appraisal of Life” based on Phil. 3:3-14 is the sermon topic for Sunday morning worship Oct. 8 at First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton.
“The tragedy of this week reminds us again that what we do as a church is important,” said Pastor Raymond Amos Sr., as he made a special invitation for the public to worship with the First United Methodist congregation Sunday.
The service will begin at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The Sunday evening Bible study will be at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall as will the Wednesday evening Life Lessons.
The 4:12 Student Ministries, Junior High Students will meet Sunday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House and the Senior High students will meet Sunday from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.
The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Coolagers Hut.

Marvin’s Chapel
Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church will have its Annual Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 7. from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A country breakfast will be served, beginning at 7 a.m., and a barbecue lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The festival will include a car/tractor show, crafts, baked goods, chrysanthemums, fresh sausage, fried apple pies, apple butter and a treasure chest.
The Car Show will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be activities for the children including inflatables.

First Christian
Morning worship Sunday at First Christian Church of Elizabethton will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Minister Michael Klaus preaching. Scripture reading will be by Sharen Taylor.
The communion mediation will be given by Eric Dunlap. Special music will be presented by Ardith Sheffield.
Bible School classes will meet at 11 a.m.
Sunday evening, youth and children will have a combined worship time in the fellowship hall after their separate classes.
The church offices will be closed Monday for Columbus Day.
The Tuesday morning prayer service with John Smith as leader will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday evening prayer service and Bible study is at 6 p.m. Also, visitation teams will go at this time. Following the service, choir practice will be in the sanctuary.
Thursday, seniors will attend the Area Seniors Rally at Boones Creek Christian Church from 8:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m.
Saturday at 8 a.m., the Men’s Breakfast will be in the church fellowship hall.

The pastor, Dr. Brian Wyatt, will preach Sunday at morning worship at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. His sermon topic is “Heaven On Earth,” based on scripture from Rev. 21: 1-8.
Morning worship is at 11 a.m. An Education Hour and choir practice is at 9:45 a.m.
Other events of the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group, Thursday at 10 a.m.; and yoga Friday at 10.
