Michelle Renee Phillips Loyd, 50, of Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at her residence.
Michelle was a native of Elizabethton. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and the Tennessee Technology Center and was an LPN. Michelle attended Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Christine Stamper and Ed and Elizabeth Phillips; her father-in-law, Kenneth Loyd; and her brother-in-law, Randy Loyd.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Timothy Loyd; three children, Kyle Bowling, Forrest Bowling and Caleb Loyd; two granddaughters, Ashlyn Bowling and Kylie Bowling; her parents, Charles and Phyllis Phillips; her mother-in-law, Patsy Loyd; one sister, Shawn Hodge; three brothers, Charlie and Shannon Phillips and Brandon Merritt; several nieces and nephews; her special friends, John Matthews and Jody Wenner; and her favorite pet, Kleo.
Funeral services for Michelle Renee Phillips Loyd will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bill Younce officiating. Music will be provided by the Roberts Family with Louie Blevins and Lynual Younce. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, at Telford United Methodist Church. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, will be Jesse Phillips, Jake Hodge, Charlie Phillips, Shannon Phillips, Robert Roberts, Tim Sliger, Thomas Headley and Forrest Bowling. Honorary pallbearers will be John Matthews and Jody Wenner. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Nurse Brooks Monroe for all his kindness to her during her illness. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her parents, Charles and Phyllis Phillips, 2773 Bob Little Road, Elizabethton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
