In the season of things that go bump in the night, Ivy Hall Nursing Home has decorated for Halloween with a variety of festive pumpkins.
Each year, Ivy Hall decorates their front steps and the grounds around the facility with jack o’lanterns, painted pumpkins, and other Halloween decorations.
Some of the pumpkins are carved and decorated by the residents at Ivy Hall. Staff members also join in the fun by showing their creativity with the pumpkins. Local businesses, community members, and students at local schools also take part in the event by bringing their pumpkins to Ivy Hall to add to the display or by donating pumpkins for the residents to decorate.
The nursing home will host their annual Trick-or-Treating event on Tuesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The staff at Ivy Hall Nursing Home invites families to bring their children to trick-or-treat through the facility as staff and residents will be handing out treats. Staff members will also be dressed up in their Halloween costumes as will some of the residents.
Ivy Hall Nursing Home is located at 301 S. Watauga Ave., in Elizabethton.
