Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will have its monthly clothes closet beginning Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

Valley Forge U-M
Valley Forge United Methodist Church will have its annual Harvest Sale Saturday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church on the 19E Bypass.
Items for sale will include handmade crafts, canned goods, quilted items, and homemade candy and cakes.
A hotdog lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All are invited.
Laurel Fork Ministry
Laurel Fork Ministry, Hampton, will have a 25-cent blessing sale today and Saturday to help with its food bank.
For sale will be clothing along with new items.
The sale will be held beside the Hampton Post Office on Highway 321.
Redeemer Lutheran
Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St., will celebrate All Saints Day Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The theme of the message is “Grace Alone, Word Alone, Faith Alone.”
Sunday School is at 9 a.m. and classes will be studying “Luther’s Large Catechism” in celebration of All Saints Day.
Deacon Tim Carter will be in charge of the services.
Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will have a special Veterans Service Sunday, Nov. 5, at the 11 a.m. service. Veterans from all branches of the military are invited to attend, and everyone is asked to wear patriotic colors.
Recovery Soldiers Ministry will present a testimonial service at the 6 p.m. worship hour.
Light refreshments will be served following the service.
Dr. D. Alan King is pastor and invites the public to all services.
First Christian
Sunday morning worship at First Christian will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Minister Michael Klaus preaching. Scripture reading will be by Mitch Broyles and the communion meditation will be given by Al Whirledge. David Hutton will have special music.
Bible school classes begin at 11 a.m.
The Sunday evening worship service begins at 6 p.m. with the minister speaking. There will be classes for youth and children.
The Tuesday morning prayer service led by John Smith will be at 11 a.m.
The Wednesday evening prayer service is at 6 p.m., and Minister Klaus will continues his series of studies from the Bible book of Galatians. There will be classes for all ages.

King Springs
King Springs Baptist Church will host the Believers in a benefit concert Sunday at the 10 a.m. service. The concert will benefit R.J. Gardner.

Calvary Baptist Church, Holly Lane, will observe a Day of Prayer for our country Monday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m.
Prayer will be offered for our nation, communities, church, and much more.

Riverview Baptist
Mark Grubb has been elected pastor of Riverview Baptist Church. He succeeds Larry Shorter, who had served the church for 16 years, but resigned because of health issues.
The Rev. Shorter will serve as associate pastor and pastor emeritus.
Sinking Creek
Sinking Creek Baptist Church will have its annual Christmas Craft Show Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds from the sale will go to international missions.

Hopson Chapel
Hopson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 601 Tiger Creek Road, Roan Mountain, will have revival Nov. 2-5.
Evangelists will be Billy Boyd and Chris Leftridge. Services will be at 7 p.m. except for Sunday when they will be at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will host Jeff Milsaps, who will present special music at the 6 p.m. worship service Sunday.

Southside Christian
Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at Southside Christian Church at the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
Special music will be presented by No Name But His, which will also lead the congregational song service. The service will be followed by a fellowship meal.
The message will be presented by Ernie Depew, who has ministered in the area for many years and currently serves as minister at Brick Christian Church, Watauga.
The community is invited to share with the congregation in this special time of worship, music and fellowship.

First Presbyterian
Special speakers will be featured at the morning worship service Sunday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton.
An Education Hour for all ages will be at 9:45 a.m.
Events of the week include meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group at 10 a.m. Thursday; and yoga Friday at 10 a.m.
The Peacemaking Committee of the church will host a public screening at 5 p.m. Sunday of the documentary “Chasing Coral” which won the Audience Award for U.S. Documentary at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The documentary focuses on the pressing issue of rapidly disappearing coral reefs (coral bleaching) around the world as it follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists who set out to discover why.
After the screening the audience will be invited to take part in a question and answer discussion about the future and what can be done to protect these remarkable and crucial eco-systems.
The program will be held in Martin Hall.
Phillippi Baptist
The Phillippi Baptist Church Mass Choir will celebrate Anniversary Sunday with a service Sunday at 3 p.m.
Several local choirs will participate in the service.
The public is invited to attend.
Long Hollow
The Southern Harmony will be featured in a special song service Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Long Hollow Baptist Church.
Services Sunday will include Sunday School at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m., and the evening service at 6 p.m.
The Rev. Brad Willis will preach at the Sunday services.
Also, services are held each Thursday at 7 p.m.
Thanks to the Victory Quartet and an anonymous giver, the church has been able to purchase a new sound system and new songbooks.
“Our church is growing and lots of good things are happening for the Lord,” a church spokesman said.
