Jerry Olen Russell, 65, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017, at his residence.
Jerry was born December 18, 1951 in Elizabethton. He was a 1969 graduate of Unaka High School and a retired sewing machine mechanic. He was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church but attended Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Russell, and his father, Delmar Leon Russell.
Survivors include his mother, Maude Largent Russell; his sister, Freida Williams and husband Walter; his brother, David Russell and wife Linda; his step-daughter, Christy Cable Bracken; two nephews, Adam Russell and Chris Williams; a great-nephew, Cody Russell; a great-niece, Harley Williams; and his fur baby, Spot.
A memorial service for Jerry Olen Russell will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, November 10, at Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Jerry to the Food Pantry, East Side Free Will Baptist Church, 704 Siam Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
