Children join Santa for storytime, refreshments at Parks & Rec

Just days before giving out presents for Christmas, Santa Claus made a special guest appearance at the City of Elizabethton Recreation Center Thursday for the annual “Story Time With Santa” event. Throughout the morning, children were treated to a booth to write letters to Santa and different Christmas-themed games and inflatables. Prior to Santa Claus’ arrival, children were also presented with cookies and milk. Parks and Recreation, UT – Extension, Carter County Drug Prevention Coalition, Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library and Elizabethton Food City each provided assistance for the event. After Santa’s reading of a Christmas tale, children were able to receive a free book on behalf of the public library.
