Norman C. Cooper Sr.

Norman C. Cooper Sr., of Gray, Tenn., passed away peacefully on December 22, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn. Mr. Cooper was born on February 10, 1941, in Bradford County, W.Va., the son of Clyde and Violet (Kennesey) Cooper, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Cooper was a resident of the area for many years. He worked for the Blair, Folling, Allen and Walker Financial Consultants in Johnson City and owned the M&N News Stand in Elizabethton Tenn., for many years. He then moved to Winter Park, Fla., where he owned and operated Wallpaper Review and Carpet Too. He also worked at Lowes as a trainer for the paint department. He then retired to Gray, Tenn. He enjoyed fishing and keeping up with all the local sports teams. He was a member of Mountain Vineyard Church in Gray.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his children, Norman (and wife, Karen) Cooper Jr., Gray, Tenn., Joni (and husband, Jackie) Denny, Gray, Tenn., Keri Cooper, Gray, Tenn., and Kelli Cooper, Lake Mary, Fla.; his grandchildren, Justin Denny, Jordan (and wife, Ashley) Denny, David Cooper, Emily Cooper, Yaliciaya, Christian and Elizet Canals; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cooper and Weston Denny; other relatives and many friends.
The family will gather together with friends to share memories at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services on Saturday, December 30, from 2 until 4 p.m. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to FNP Amanda Moorehouse, Dr. Crisostomo, and the nurses and assistants of the 5400 wing of Johnson City Medical Center.
