First Christian
The Sunday morning worship service at First United Methodist Church begins at 9:45 a.m. with Minister Michael Klaus preaching. The communion meditation will be given by Chris McCloud. Scripture will be read by Melanie Klaus and special music is by John and Mary Smith.
Bible school classes will follow at 11 a.m.
The evening service is at 6 p.m.
Other opportunities for the week include the Tuesday morning prayer group Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. That evening the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. for a message by Bud Gentry. The meeting will take the place of the Wednesday night service.
Also, the church office will be closed Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Grace Baptist
As of Jan. 7, Grace Baptist Church has new Sunday morning service times.
Coffee with Grace is at 8:30 a.m. followed by the traditional worship service at 9 a.m.
Sunday School is at 10 a.m. followed by Common Ground, a contemporary worship service.
The pastor, the Rev. Travis Tyler, invites the public to attend. The church is located at 1114 Broad St.

First Presbyterian
The Rev. David Prentice-Hyers will present the message at morning worship Jan. 14 at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton.
The service will begin at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour for all ages will begin at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; The Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday. The group is presently reading Moral Combat by R. Marie Griffith.
Yoga will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
First Presbyterian is located at 119 W. F St. The Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt is pastor.

CCCMF Meeting
The Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. at First Christian Church, Elizabethton.
Bud Gentry is guest speaker, and all ladies are invited to be special guests at the meeting.

Unaka Baptist
The Unaka Baptist Church will have its bi-monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.
Proceeds will go to the church building project.
The Rev. Stephen Greene is pastor.

Upper Gap Creek
The Sounds of Victory will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
A love offering will be received.
The Rev. Dale Blevins is pastor.
The church is located at 1380 Dry Creek Road.

Redeemer Lutheran
Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St., will observe the Second Sunday after Epiphany Sunday at the 10 a.m. worship service.
Deacon Tim Carter will deliver the sermon “Jesus Said: Follow Me.”
Luther’s Large Catechism Study will be at 9 a.m.
The public is invited.
