Joy was my late husband’s great-aunt and lived with me for almost 7 years. She had a great laugh, a big heart and we all loved her dearly. She will be missed!
Joy L. Hardin, 74, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at her residence, following an extended illness. Joy was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Charles Landon Fletcher and Blance Dakota Cardwell Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Hardin Jr.
Joy attended Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed bird watching and was an avid shopper.
Survivors include Jay Wilson and Judy Jones, her caregiver.
A committal and entombment service to celebrate the life of Joy L. Hardin will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Kelly Wilson officiating.
