Leora McKinney Pelletier, 76, of Hampton, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Leora was born in Hampton to the late Banium Floyd McKinney and Elsie Stevens McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Adrian Pelletier.
Leora had worked as an LPN and was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed spending time walking in the mountains.
Those left to cherish her memory include Pamela Joan Adams of Johnson City; her sons, Joseph Adam Pelletier of Kingsport and Clifton Lee Pelletier and wife Teresa Ann of Hampton; her grandchildren, Blake Adams, Charles Wesley Adams and Megan Adrian Adams; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Pelletier, Leora Pelletier, King Ballis, Dalton Adams and Chloe Adams; three sisters, Avis Jones, Jolene Woods and Brenda Walsh; and three brothers, Danny Lynn McKinney, Jimmy Dale McKinney and Rev. B.F. McKinney.
A service to celebrate the life of Leora McKinney Pelletier will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Crabtree Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. B.F. McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. A private disposition will be held at a later time. The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors and staff of The Waters of Roan Highlands for the love and care shown to Leora during her illness.
