Georgie Nanette Bowman Van Dyke

Georgie Nanette Bowman Van Dyke, 70, 200 N East Street, Elizabethton, passed on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness. Nanette was born February 12, 1947, to the late Ola Tester Bowman and the late George Wayne Bowman. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Maude V. Bowman, and her husband, Patrick Paul “Pete” Van Dyke.
She was a mother, homemaker, and caregiver of her late parents, whom she loved dearly. She was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton. She enjoyed all kinds of music, especially Christian and Classic.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Danny and wife Lori and daughters Natalie Moody and husband Wespley and Caroline and Katherine Van Dyke, a son, Timothy and daughters, Amber and Rachel, a daughter, Lisa Carol Lacy and husband Darrell and her daughter, Olivia Danielle; a sister, Patsy Austin and special nieces, Kathy Boocer and husband Brandon, Cindy Greeley and husband Bob, and Sequa Shields and husband David; special friends, Christine Pippin, her faithful dog George, and the members of First Christian Church.
A remembrance service will be held Saturday, January 20, at 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, Elizabethton, under the direction of Michael Klaus, minister. Music will be under the direction of Gene Estep.
