Dorothy Helen Shepard Harrell, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Anderson and Rosa Lee Shepard.
Mrs. Harrell worked with entertainment companies, assisting with running rides. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved housekeeping, fishing, being outdoors and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Laverne Harrell, two sisters and two brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, David Harrell, Elizabethton; a daughter, Linda Harrell, Elizabethton; three granddaughters, Kayla Clark, Brandy Nave and Brittany Nave; a grandson, Billy Nave; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Coleman, Telford; and a brother, John Shepard, Elizabethton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Dorothy Helen Shepard Harrell will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Willie Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the graveside service.
