Johnie Eleanor Pierce Estep, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital with her loving children by her side. She was born June 22, 1931 to John B. and Amanda Wilson Pierce.
Johnie was a homemaker and also a retired housekeeper at the Carter County Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, N.D. Estep, and one son, David Estep.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Estep, and four sons, Hobert (Wess Lee), Roger, Larry “Cap” (Linda) and Douglas Estep and fur baby, Sally. Also left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren, Tammy Lancaster (Nathan), Crystal Bilbery (Daniel), Brian Estep (Audra) and Daverelle Estep, and several great-grandchildren. Johnie is also survived by her half sisters, Wanda Johnson, Naomi Pierce and Margie Pierce; half brothers, J.B. Pierce and Edgar Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Johnie Eleanor Pierce Estep will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Edgar Pierce officiating. Interment will be in the Estep Family Cemetery in Stoney Creek on Wednesday, February 14, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Lancaster, Daniel Bilbery, Noah Lancaster, Hayden Lancaster, Kent Buckles and Curtis Buckles. Honorary pallbearers are Fletcher Lancaster and B.J. Bowman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
