Pat “Nana Pat” Richardson

Pat “Nana Pat” Richardson, 77, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She was born in Butler, Tenn., and was a daughter of the late Alec and Nora Mae South Stout. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Lee Proffitt, Ann Lou Branch and Sarah K. Roark, and a brother, James W. Pauley.
Mrs. Richardson attended Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church. She loved sports and followed the teams of Elizabethton High School, Milligan College and the Elizabethton Twins Baseball Team.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, John Wesley Richardson, of the home; a daughter, Tammy Troutman and her husband, Tim, Elizabethton; two sons, Randy Richardson and his wife, Nicole, and Danny Richardson and his wife, Lisa, all of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Miranda Richardson, Zachary Peters, Hunter Richardson, Rachel Peters, Abigail Richardson and Emily Richardson; a sister, Ruth Branch, of Virginia; and members of her extended family, Gary and Maria Deloach, James and Renita Bunten, Amara and Aundria Bunten, Alena Bunten and Garrett and Alyson Deloach. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Richardson will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Music will be under the direction of Annette LeVaeau. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tim Troutman, Gary Deloach, James Bunten, David Roark, Brad Grindstaff, John Pierce and Hunter Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephew, Jim Greer, and Jim Troutman, as well as all who knew and loved Nana Pat. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Ivy Hall and the Regional Cancer Center of Johnson City Medical Center, her special neighbors and friends, especially John and Charlotte Pierce, for all the care, love and support shown to Mrs. Richardson and the family during her illness.
