Redeemer Lutheran
The Second Sunday in Lent will be observed at the worship service Feb. 25 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St. The theme of the message, which will be presented by Deacon Tim Carter, is “The Son of Man Must Suffer Many Things.”
Morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Sunday School is at 9 a.m.
Also, Lenten Worship will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. The message theme is “He Was Wounded For Our Transgressions.”

East Side Christian
East Side Christian Church will host Christian Trivette in concert Sunday at the 10 a.m. worship service. A special love offering will be received to help with the medical expenses for the nine-month-old son, Ezekiel Trivette, who will be having surgery at the Shriners Children Hospital next month.
The church is located at 1400 Siam Road and the public is invited.

New Zion Faith Center
New Zion Faith Center, 1904 Jamestown Road, Johnson City, will have Old Fashioned Day Sunday. Special guests for the service are Robert Kariuki and the congregation of John Wesley United Methodist Church of Bristol, Va.
Pastor Ernest E. Widby, Sr., invites the public to attend.

First United Methodist
First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, will continue its observance of Lent Sunday with a message titled “Can A Disciple Drop A Class?” at morning worship at 9:55 a.m. The message is based on scripture from Mark 8: 31-38.
Sunday School begins at 11:20 a.m.
The Junior High 4:12 Student Ministries will meet Sunday at 5:45 to 5:30 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House. The Senior High group will meet Sunday from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Coolager Hut.
The Wednesday evening Lenten Bible Study will be at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
The pastor, the Rev. Raymond Amos, Sr., invites the public to attend.

First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will preach at morning worship Sunday at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. and the communion meditation will be given by David Shields. Diane Rea will read scripture and Gene Estep will have special music.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
The evening service is at 6 p.m.
The Ladies Bible Study Group will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Fidelis Classroom.
The Tuesday Morning Prayer Service will be at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.
The Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Choir practice will follow.
Ladies Circles will meet Thursday.
Saturday, the Men’s Monthly Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

New Liberty
The New Liberty Quartet will be in charge of the morning worship service beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday. The service will feature a blend of old-time and Southern gospel music.
The pastor, the Rev. Ray Colbaugh, invites everyone to attend.
New Liberty Church is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have its bi-monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.
All proceeds will go to the building fund and everyone is invited.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“Unbelievable Promises” is the sermon theme for Sunday morning worship Feb. 25 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City. The sermon text is Gen. 17: 1-7, 15-16.
Morning worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
Lenten Vespers will be Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. The sermon theme is “Return to the Lord Who Will Restore You” based on I Peter 5: 6-11.

The Edwards Family from Burnsville, N.C., will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. service at the Cove Creek Community Church, Roan Mountain.

The Rev. Dr. Bryan Wyatt, pastor, will preach Sunday at the morning worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The service begins at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour will be at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday. The group is discussing the book “Moral Combat” by R. Marie Griffith.
Yoga is held each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
