David Lee Hughes, 53, of Elizabethton, passed away early Sunday morning, March 4, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur E. Hughes.
Loved ones he leaves behind include his mother, Shirley Mays; one sister, Debbie Dollar and husband Gerald; three brothers, Arthur Hughes and wife Melissa, Donald Hughes and wife Karen, and John Hughes and wife Suzy. David is also survived by a daughter, Rebecca Jennings and husband Cody; a son, Alex Hughes; and his cousin and best friend, Edward Hughes Jr. and wife Shirley. He leaves behind three grandsons, Timmothy, Steven and Trevor Jennings, and a granddaughter, his little baby girl, Cheyenne Cerene Scalf. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that were near and dear to his heart.
There will be a family gathering to celebrate David’s life at his sister’s home on Thursday, March 8, at noon.
