Eliza Marie Carden Bowers, 92, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Cambridge House, Bristol, following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Rudy A. and Lottie Bowers Carden.
Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, who died February 9, 2008; a daughter, Margaret Bowers; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Rebecca Bowers; a special niece, Penny Rosenboro and her husband Preston; one great-niece, Ashton Rosenboro, and one great-nephew, Jayden Rosenboro; a special friend, Kenven Richardson and wife Becky; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services for Eliza Marie Carden Bowers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Matt Stewart officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Old Horseshoe Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, will be Kenven Richardson, Preston Rosenboro, Steve Collins, Jeremy Hodge, A.D. “Sonny” Fletcher, Jayden Rosenboro and Joe Carrier. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
