Robin Marie Markland Bowers, 61, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Jimmy Allen Markland and Loretta Taylor Morris and her step-father, Billy Jack Morris.
Robin had been an employee of Wal-Mart for a number of years before being employed by the Carter County School System as a custodian at Unaka High School and Hunter Elementary School. She was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Markland.
Survivors include her children, Renee Gladson and Jonathan Bowers and wife Chastity, all of Elizabethton, and Michelle Dotson, Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn Simerly, Morgan Simerly, Megan Simerly, Zayne Buckles, Avery Dotson, Kendall Dotson, Nick Bowers and Allston Harrison; the father of her children, Harold “Mutt” Bowers; her brother, Laney Markland; her sisters, Thelma “Pebbles” Blake and Sherry Ann Lowe; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Robin Marie Markland Bowers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
