There are many coaches throughout the state who would like to say they have the returning Class AA Miss Softball on their roster, but right now Ken Hardin is glad that he has Lauren Brickey filling a spot on his roster.
Brickey made the most of two hits in the contest as the senior drove home five of her teammates in leading Elizabethton past the Lady Longhorns of Johnson County Thursday evening by a 10-2 score.
A Brickey single in the first inning set the pace collecting two runs to get the Lady Cyclones off and running.
Elizabethton salted the game away in the sixth as Brickey homered and Haley Fair added a big hit as well.
Kira Dillard batted 3-for-4 to lead the Lady Cyclones offensively. Macie Herrmann, Brickey, and Maci West all had multiple hits in the contest.
Brickey notched the win from the pitching circle allowing seven hits and two runs going the distance while striking out nine Lady ‘Horn batters.
Hannah Brooks went 3-for-4 to pace Johnson County on the day.
