Betty Jeanne Moore

Betty Jeanne Moore, 86, 1201 Arney Street, Elizabethton, departed this life on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. Snodgrass and Maude Ann Street Snodgrass.
Betty was a member of the Elizabethton High School Class of 1950. The friendships of the class were very meaningful to her. She continued her education at Milligan College, graduating in 1954. Betty lived in Louisville, Ky., New Albany, Ind., and Indianapolis, Ind., before returning to Elizabethton. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Betty was a retired teacher for the Carter County School System. She taught first grade at Hunter Elementary for 25 years. She taught piano at school and at home. She loved reading and enjoyed being a member of the Elizabethton Book Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Moore; her sister, Sylvia Ann Smith and her husband, Jim Smith, and Leon Snodgrass of Florida.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie and her husband, Steve Tillis, and one special granddaughter, MacKenzie Moore-Adams; and also her family in Florida, Lynn Snodgrass and Norman Barnes.
It was Betty’s wish that there be no funeral service and in lieu of a service, it was Betty’s wish for her friends to spend time visiting the shut-ins and sick in celebration of her life. Condolences may be sent to our website: www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
