Edward “Ed” Robert Younce

Edward “Ed” Robert Younce, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 29, 1937 in Streter, Ill., to the late Ed and Cozette Troxwell Younce. He lived most of his life in Carter County, Tenn.
Mr. Younce retired from the Carter County Tax Assessor’s Office. He attended Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Glass Younce; infant daughters, Elaine Younce and Cynthia Younce; a sister, Janet Younce Wilson; and a brother, Kenneth Younce.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Faye Isaacs Younce; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Richie Burrow; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Debbie Younce; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Johnny Price; a daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Neal Smith; grandchildren, Chasity and Andy O’Quinn, Chris Younce, Shawn and April Younce, Amber Younce, Shane Younce, Logan Taylor, Melodie and Shaun Harris, Natasha Nidiffer, Brittany Nidiffer and AnnaBelle Smith; great-grandchildren, Jack, Grant, Ashlyn, Chase, C.J., Mason, Amelia, Azara, Jack, Karoline, Bentley (his special buddy), Nate and Taylor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Kathy Younce, Sonny and Connie Younce, Lynual and Lois Younce, Pastor Bill and Shirley Younce and Jack and Ruthann Younce; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Jimmy Tester and Joyce and Rusty Rumley; sister-in-law, Jeroline Younce and Tonie and Jim Sams and brother-in-law, Ralph “Doc” Isaacs. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
According to “Ed’s” wishes a graveside service to honor his life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in the Emmert Cemetery, Keenburg Community, with the Rev. Donny Reagan and Pastor Bill Younce officiating. Music will be under the direction of Lynual Younce and Joel Younce. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Orville Reece and his church family. Friends may call and visit with the family at the residence at any time. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
