Arthur Don Myers, 78, of Elizabethton, beloved husband, brother and uncle, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Signature Health Care.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Aaron B. and Lula Williams Myers.
Don was an auto mechanic and was employed at Dixie Battery for 35 years. In earlier years he loved to fish and liked NASCAR. He was a member of Carter Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Bowers.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carol Ritchie Myers; two sisters, Gladys Roberts and husband Alfred, Cumberland, Ohio, and Emma Peters, Elizabethton; three brothers, Wesley Myers and wife Lois, Lloyd Myers, and Melvin Myers and wife Sue, all of Elizabethton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Judy Estep.
Graveside services for Arthur Don Myers will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the Ritchie Cemetery with Mr. Don Brandon, minister, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday, will be Larry Estep, Daniel Bare, Sam Shah, Jeff Buckles, Gene Pierce, Adam Buckles, Willard Lovelace and Blake Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Hardin, Ken Nidiffer, Dr. Ted Taylor and his church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Signature Health Care for the excellent care Don received. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Benevolence Fund, Carter Christian Church, 1765 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
