Linda Ann Williams Sommers Osborne

Linda Ann Williams Sommers Osborne, 78, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Fred and Ruby Reynolds Williams of Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Lewis; son, Mike Sommers; husband, James H. Sommers; and late husband, Ross Osborne.
Linda was a retired registered nurse at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church, where she loved serving as the piano player for many years. She graduated from Elizabethton High School, Class of 1957.
She leaves behind her loving family which includes sister, Jane Dunkelberg and husband Ray; special friend and cousin, Bunny Gordon; daughters, Liz Thornburg and husband Emory, Mary Hodge and husband Vince, Susan Roettinger and husband Warren, and Rebecca Holland; son, Joe Sommers; step-sons, Todd Osborne, Mark Osborne and Jeremy Osborne; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Osborne will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Hilton officiating. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, in the Lyons Cemetery with Emory Thornburg officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, will be Robbie Sommers, Joe Sommers, Jimmy Sommers, Duncan Hodge, Vince Hodge Jr. and Dean Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be David Govan, Jon Stamey, Steve Lewis, Eddie Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Robert Sommers, Joe Garland, Raymond Osborne, Marc Montgomery, Tony Oaks, Danny Oaks and David Oaks. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
