An evening of fellowship and fun is right around the bend for the region.

East Tennessee Christian Home & Academy (ETCHA) will welcome popular and award-winning Christian musician John Waller for their annual “By Faith” benefit dinner and silent auction on Friday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. inside the Boones Creek Christian Church in Washington County. The musician’s well-known hits include “I’ll Be Waiting,” and “As for Me and My House.”

Waller’s experiences professional and personally made the pairing a perfect fit for the event, according to ETCHA Director of Development Ron Marvel.

“John Waller is very active with children’s charities and his name was actually brought up before to perform at the event,” Marvel said. “It’s a perfect fit and we’re excited to have him perform. We’re looking forward to Saturday’s event as a way to reach out to the public and raise support for the Academy.”

Individuals can RSVP for Friday’s event by calling either (423) 542-4432 or (423) 895-0122. Over the course of the evening, a dinner and silent auction will be held to go along with music provided by Waller. All proceeds raised from the event will be used to benefit operational costs at ETCHA.

“We’ve had a successful year so far,” Marvel said. “We appreciate all the support the community has provided. Our goal is to continue offering services and partnering with the region to provide services to children.”

ETCHA is a nonprofit Christian home and academy that provides safe housing for children. The facility also provides nationally recognized biblically-based academics and receives no state funding.

Donations are accepted throughout the year to assist with operational costs.

“If someone is unable to make it to the event, they can still donate to the facility,” Marvel said.

ETCHA offers a variety of projects for children to get involved with community activities.
