Betty L. Cannon, 81, of Joelton, Tenn., and formerly of Johnson City, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Betty was born in Avery County, N.C., to the late Charles and Clara Wise King.
She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clarence W. Cannon, in 2007; one son, William Keith Cannon, in 1999; a granddaughter, Jessica Robinson, in 2016; one sister, Virginia Alvey; and one brother, Charles “Pug” King Jr.
Survivors include one son, Steve Cannon and his wife Rebecca; two daughters, Marcia Dressler and her husband Tom and Lisa Stewart; a very special niece, JoBeth Bulla and her husband Kenneth; two special nieces, Shanna and Nicole; 11 grandchildren, Keith Jr., Chad, Luke, Jake, Rebecca, Melody, Josh, Jeremy, Jessica, Preston and Amber; and several great-grandchildren.
The family of Betty Cannon will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Morris-Baker. A memorial service will be held at Morris-Baker on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gary Whitehead officiating. A committal service will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Betty’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Alfred King, Johnny Ray Estep and Norman Stevens will serve as honorary pallbearers.
