Carol Louise Depew Cooke

Carol Louise Depew Cooke passed away on April 24, 2018, after a brief illness. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., on August 30, 1929. She used to joke that her birth started the Great Depression. She grew up in a large family that worked a dairy farm in Elizabethton and attended church services led by their pastor father. She was proud to be a member of the Elizabethton High graduating class of 1947. Carol married Walter Cooke in 1949 and joined him in running a drycleaning business. They later lived in Georgia and Florida before settling in Las Vegas, Nev. In Las Vegas, Carol assisted in the family business Tiffany Cleaners and worked in the Social Services Department of Clark County.
She is survived by her longtime friend Lee Kiamar; son Walter Stu Cooke; daughter Louise Cooke Freiheit and her husband Steve; granddaughter Jodi Freiheit; great-grandson David Freiheit; three sisters; a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
