Gary Worley Claymon, 56, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his residence. Gary was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Charles L. Claymon and Dottie Lett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Claymon was preceded in death by one daughter, Jenna C. Claymon.
Gary was one of a kind and a “True Blue Cowboy.” He was always there to lend a hand and knew no stranger. He was always a wonderful father and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Kelsie Butler and her fiancé, Spencer Feathers; a brother, Phillip Claymon and wife Michell; and his longtime friend, Will Pritchard, who was like a son to Gary. Several nieces, a nephew and many friends also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at the Nave Cemetery in the Siam Community of Elizabethton with Mr. Bryan Paddock, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Tim Ashley, Curtis Hyder Jr., William Pritchard, Tim Willis, Spencer Feathers, Eugeno “Spero” Moore and David Nave. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Pittman, Harold Monteith, Troy Smith, Lynn Treadway, Dave Grindstaff and Tom Glenn Grindstaff. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 1:15 p.m. Monday to go in procession. A visitation will be conducted from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton.
