Ellen Marie “Tootie” Harmon Sheets, 71, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Born May 21, 1946 in Jefferson City, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Spencer and Nina Pearl Smith Harmon.
Tootie had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son, Clarence David Sheets, who died November 1, 2017; and a brother, Edward Harmon.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Clarence Howard Sheets; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Janey Harmon; a sister-in-law, Marlene Harmon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ellen Marie “Tootie” Harmon Sheets will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Chase officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, in the Ellis Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, will be Earl Harmon, Rob Lambert, Jerry Byers, Spencer Babb, Landon Babb and Jarvis Estep. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
