John Walter Graybeal Jr., 55, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Erwin, Tenn., he was a son of the late John Walter Graybeal Sr. and Gladys Ethel Hampton Graybeal.
Mr. Graybeal was a graduate of Unicoi County High School and a graduate of University of Phoenix with a degree in Business Management. He was an auto mechanic and a wrecker driver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrin Graybeal.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Sherri Bowers Graybeal; three children, Amanda Allen and husband Bryan, Jessica Hinton and husband Andrew, and Timothy Graybeal; eight grandchildren, Alexis Allen, Aaron Allen, Joshua Hinton, Zoe Allen, Zachary Allen, Eli Allen, Emmett Allen and Destiny Hinton; a half brother, Junior Hampton; his sisters, Terri Scott and Denise Blevins; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Ike Michaelaras.
A memorial service for John Walter Graybeal Jr. will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg Poe and Pastor Marty Murr officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Whaley, Corey Smith, Ike Michaelaras, Jimmy Jarrett, Raymond Williams and Chris Rodeback.
