To the editor:
I am writing as a concerned citizen, but also as the Chair of the Democratic Party; my innermost values equate to democratic philosophy ergo tenets of Christianity — love and concern for humankind.
When Donald Trump was running for office, he derogated women in the most vulgar way, he has consistently lied, he is so clearly a person for himself and only to himself. If one doesn’t agree with him, you’re a target for him. He has such psychopathic characteristics: impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits; the latest of which is demonstrated through BABY JAILS. Enough is enough!
When will the people rise up and say enough is enough regardless of party affiliation!
Our own home town resembles this outrageous sort of government…
A ONE PARTY GOVERNMENT DOES NOT WORK!
I spoke before the County Commission last Monday evening — we’re spending over 50% of our County budget on the Sheriff’s Department and County Jail! That does not include ancillary services that you will find in other departments but related to law enforcement. Absurd! Most local and state government agencies spend the majority of their money on Health and Human Services, Education. Not so in Carter County.
Incarceration does not solve the problem of the addicts in jail. It’s a vicious cycle and doesn’t work. I’m asking you to reach out to me to help with a citizen’s effort to make change.
It’s in the best interest of all of us!
