Customer service: Righting a wrong makes big impression

To the editor:
I want to say thank you to Mr. Andrew McKeehan, Marketing President, Carter County Bank. He deserves recognition for stepping up to the plate in a BIG WAY.
My 11-year-old son unfortunately didn’t experience the best customer service from one of the local branches recently. I called Mr. McKeehan and expressed my disappointment. Emotions run higher when someone’s child is involved. Within a few days, my son received a package in the mail. Inside the package was a very special gift that my son absolutely adored. But more than the gift, was a long, handwritten, well thought out, personal letter, addressed to my son.
This kind of customer service and action is unprecedented, especially in the era that we currently live, where customer service has become somewhat extinct. Mr. McKeehan’s actions will no doubt stay etched in my son’s memory. I hope this letter will encourage others to take Mr. McKeehan’s lead.
