Brien Sturgill named new pastor at Roan Street Church of God

Brien Sturgill is the new pastor at Roan Street Church of God.
Both, Brien and his wife, Shannon, are ordained ministers within the Church of God, Cleveland, Tenn. He is also an ordained bishop within the church. He entered the ministry at the age of 19 and has ministered in 29 states as well as Trinidad, Tobago, and Haiti.
Sturgill has served as music, youth, college, associate and senior pastor. He has been elected to serve as chairman of the state council and appointed to numerous boards and committees within the Church of God.
Sturgill is a gifted musician, singer, songwriter, and preacher. His passion is reaching the lost, restoring hope and life to the broken, and making spiritual dreams come true for others.
His wife is a gifted teacher, clinician, and is a frequent guest speaker for women’s ministry events as well as fulfilling pulpit roles and assignments. She also sings and enjoys speaking.
Shannon holds a Master of Divinity degree from The Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Cleveland, and is currently a doctoral candidate at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., pursuing her ED.D.
Brien and Shannon are the parents of five children, Hannah, a special education teacher for Knox County; Elijah, 19, who is preparing to return to Lee University in the spring of 2019; Gabriel, Benjamin, and Ruth.
The Sturgills assumed their ministry at Roan Street Church of God Aug. 7.
The church is located at 113 N. Roan St. Sunday services include Sunday School at 10 a.m.; morning worship at 11 a.m. and the Wednesday service at 7 p.m.
